Day 5 - Our last day in England.

We all said goodbye to our host families and headed off to the beautiful town of Windsor to visit the Castle.

After taking the Tube, we met some strange, multi-coloured people!

Day 4 - Interviews in English in a London park.

Today we also took some time to interview people in one of London's many parks. The interviews were in English and you'll be able to watch the videos of some of these interviews next week - here on the blog.

After the British Museum we walked to Holborn Tube station to take the London Underground, or the Tube, as it is called in London.

Day 4 - back to London!

After a long bus ride this morning, we were back in London to visit the British Museum - "a museum of the world for the world."

Day 3 - visiting the sights in London.

After visiting the Tate museum and Shakespeare's theatre, we walked from Bankside along the River Thames to the Tower of London, and on to Tower Bridge, of course!

Day 3 - London: Modern Art.

After a long bus trip this morning, we arrived in London and started our first visit at the Tate Museum of Modern Art. Picasso was the subject of our attention!

Day 2: Stratford-Upon-Avon and Oxford.

After lunch, we went back to Oxford to visit Christchurch College:

Visiting Canterbury Cathedral

This afternoon, we visited the Cathedral in Canterbury. The cathedral was built 1400 years ago. The oldest part is Norman and the youngest part is gothic. The stained-glass windows were amazing! The statues were impressive. The Choir was magnificent.

After the visit we went and ate in the grass because we were very hungry.

Cet après-midi nous avons visité la Cathédrale de Canterbury. La cathédrale a été construite il y a 1400 ans. La plus vieille partie est romane et la plus récente est gothique. Les vitraux étaient incroyables! Les statues étaient impressionnantes. Le chœur était magnifique.

Après la visite nous sommes allés manger sur la pelouse parce que nous avions une grosse faim!

The crossing.

We took the ferry from Calais to Dover. The boat was impressive: very big and beautiful and inside was very modern. There was one shop with souvenirs, sweets and beauty products. The weather was sunny and the sea was calm.

Nous avons pris Le ferry de Calais à Douvres. Le bateau était impressionnant: gros et beau et très moderne à l'intérieur. Il y avait une boutique avec des souvenirs, des bonbons et des produits de beauté. Il faisait beau et la mer était calme. (Traduit par Camille M.)

We have arrived!

After a great crossing in the Ferry, we spent a lovely afternoon in the town of Canterbury in glorious sunshine. Now we are on our way to meet our host families in Oxford. A smashing first day.

Rappel de l'heure du rassemblement demain matin: 04h45 devant le collège près de l'arrivée des cars.

N'oubliez pas vos  pique-niques (le petit-déjeuner et le déjeuner). Et n'oubliez pas de glisser une bouteille d'eau dans votre sac.

Pensez à la veste chaude pour la fraîcheur du matin.

Cartes Postales:
Si vous avez l'intention d'envoyer une carte postale à vos proches depuis l'Angleterre pendant la semaine, n'oubliez pas de noter leurs coordonnées dans vos documents à emporter avant de partir (adresse complète). 

Et si vous voulez être sûr(e) que votre carte arrivera avant votre retour, pensez à emmener des enveloppes blanches avec vous dans votre valise. Elles sont plus chères en Angleterre et n'y sont pas vendues systèmatiquement avec les cartes. En y glissant votre carte, elle voyagera plus vite! Et elle vous laissera plus de place pour écrire sur la carte.

Adaptateurs.
N'oubliez pas vos chargeurs pour vos appareils (sèche-cheveux, téléphone, piles rechargeables.......) et l'adaptateur qui vous permettra de les brancher en Angleterre.

J-3!

Pensez à faire la valise ensemble avec votre enfant avant le départ .

Il semblerez que la météo en Angleterre pour la semaine à venir s'annonce plutôt clément mais n'oubliez pas la veste bien chaude et imperméable. Les matins risquent d'être frais à nouveau surtout.

Dans le sac à dos, il ne faut pas oublier la trousse au complèt: crayons à papier et crayons de couleur surtout. 

Il faut penser aux deux repas à fournir pour le premier jour: le petit-déjeuner + le déjeuner.

Et n'oubliez pas l'argent de poche. Chaque élève aura besoin de £4.00 pour l'achat du ticket de métro sur place (les professeurs récupéront cette somme dès le début de la semaine du voyage).
